Blues making news

Checketts to be next owner of the Blues
  • Sources have told the Post-Dispatch that Checketts, 50, has no interest in moving the Blues out of town. A stipulation in the purchase from the Lauries mandates that Checketts keeps the team in St. Louis through the 2010-11 season.

TODAY'S BLUES STORY: 25 and out

  • The Blues established themselves as one of the most competitive teams in the NHL. Their string of 25 consecutive postseason trips is the longest in the league and ranks above any current streak in the NFL, NBA, Major League Baseball and MLS. The only longer playoff streaks in the history of pro sports belong to the Boston Bruins (1968-96, 29 years) and Chicago Blackhawks (1970-97, 28 years).
