Busch coming along

Ballpark making a big difference in St. Louis

  • Downtown St. Louis is just a cluster of activity: in addition to the opening of the new Busch Stadium on April 4, downtown is also seeing some renovated hotels -- like the former Pavilion, reopened as the Hilton at the Ballpark -- as well as $450 million Ballpark Village project being developed by the Cordish Co. When completed, Ballpark Village will include 1,200 residences and 450,000 square feet of retail space. Besides the new ballpark, signature achievements in that plan included a $75 million renovation of the Old Post Office and Custom House and a $17 million streetscaping plan that has transformed Washington Avenue

Busch Stadium turf is in place

  • Busch Stadium looks like a ballpark now as crews have completed laying the sod on the infield and outfield.
