The final spring training record for 2007 is 16-10.

The Cards were excited to be a part of the Civil Rights game.

Former Cardinals Larry Walker and Cal Eldred, who both retired at the end of the 2005 season, recieved rings by the Cardinals.
When general manager Walt Jocketty told Larry Walker that the club was going to present him with a World Series ring Tuesday, the usually jovial Walker "was at a loss for words."

"I'm very grateful," said Walker, who played 1 1/2 years with the Cardinals before retiring after the 2005 season. "My wife cried. It's kind of weird. I didn't play for the team. I played 16 years or whatever trying to get a World Series ring and I didn't get one. The first year I don't play, I do. I should have retired 10 years ago."

Former Cardinals pitcher Cal Eldred, who also retired after the 2005 season, also will get a ring.
Ricardo Rincon was released by the Cardinals. It doesn't surprise me given how well left-handed relievers Tyler Johnson and Randy Flores did in the 2006 season.
